Looking for a little dose of Holiday Magic?  Then look no further than the Lucky Strike Tower Lighting on Friday, December 4th at 7pm. American Tobacco and Light Up Durham have teamed up again to bring a great night of music, lights, snow and a few surprises that you are bound to enjoy. Ken Smith of WRAL TV will serve as our host again this year as we "light up" the nearly 200 feet of Lucky Strike Water Tower at American Tobacco.

Our big show on the lawn will feature live performances by local youth. There will be holiday music, some traditional toe-tapping tunes, and a finale that will have you chasing snow flakes! That is right; it will SNOW on December 4th in downtown Durham!

Slated to perform on the main stage are:

The Durham School of the Arts Concert Chorale and Advanced Middle School Chorus,
Directed by Choral Director, Megan Boyd, Accompanied by Amy Davis

Morehead Montessori Magnet Elementary Chorus,
Directed by Choral Director, Betsy Hughes, Accompanied by Tonya Kirk

The "Jammin Manatees" from Club Boulevard Arts & Humanities Magnet School,
Directed by Choral Director, Ms. Tokay Allen

This year's event will feature a FOOD DRIVE, so as you prepare to come to American Tobacco, bring along some kid-friendly, non-perishable foods that will be used by the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle's BackPack Buddies program. It's a great time of year to give back, so fill up a sack!

The American Tobacco Campus will be all lit up and waiting on guests to arrive on December 4th. A special treat that will put a twinkle in your eye will be nearly 500 beautiful and well-placed luminaries that will "light the way" to a wonderful evening. The luminaries this year are courtesy of Girl Scout Troop 514.

The first 500 people on the lawn will receive a free light wand as a special keepsake. And, as always, at the specified time, the entire crowd will help countdown to the grand finale moment when we throw the switch to Light Up Durham and the Lucky Strike Tower for the holiday season. Make plans to join us and Light Up Durham's Honorary Chairpersons, Minnie Forte-Brown and Bill Shore, for this wonderful night that is quickly becoming a holiday tradition in Durham.
